Raider class vessels are extremely multipurpose light combatants which are outperformed by Fighter class vessels. However, the Raider is indispensable to the Silver Force. It is robust, intentionally built based on proven technologies to facilitate its mass production and to optimise reliability. For example, it has been reported that only 5% of the Raiders in service are under review in the Silver Force workshops, as opposed to 15% for vessels with a more complex design. So the Raider is intentionally used to complement a group during a mission. During an attack, it can be used to overcome the enemy and to prevent an enemy from concentrating its firing against units vital to a successful mission.

The Raider can transform in combat. The transformation from 'Speed of Light' mode into 'Multiple Attack' mode enables it to shoot four times simultaneously with twice the firing range. This transformation can be performed on only one of the two models.
